Count Your Blessings

Count Your Blessings
When upon life's billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev'ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.

 When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

 So, amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.

This song really encourages me that even when life is crazy and you feel like you're being "tempest-tossed." That we need to look and see what the Lord has done in our lives and count our blessings!
This is a great reminder to me right now, as my work picks up and with everything going on in our world. But I need to stop and count my blessings and see what God has done!
With that being said, here are some of the blessings that I am counting.

Blessings from God!
*A beautiful house I get to live in!
*Wonderful landlord, who is generous and a believer.
*Neighbors who like to play games and go for walks!
*That my roommate and I get along.
*A wonderful church family.
*Great volunteers who love the kids!
*New connections are being made.
*Seeing Killer whales!
*My knee isn't in pain most of the time.
*Encouraging friends and family
The list goes on, but I'll stop there.

What are some blessings you are counting?

This World is Not my Home

This world is not my home
"This world is not my home
I'm just a-passing through
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue.
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home
In this world anymore.
Oh Lord, you know
I have no friend like you
If heaven's not my home
Then Lord what will I do.
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home
In this world anymore.
I have a loving mother
Just up in Gloryland
And I don't expect to stop
Until I shake her hand.
She's waiting now for me
In heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home
In this world anymore.
Oh Lord, you know
I have no friend like you
If heaven's not my home
Then Lord what will I do.
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home
In this world anymore.
Just over in Gloryland
We'll live eternally
The saints on every hand
Are shouting victory.
Their songs of sweetest praise
Drift back from heaven's shore
And I can't feel at home
In this world anymore.
Oh Lord, you know
I have no friend like you
If heaven's not my home
Then Lord what will I do.
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home
In this world anymore..."

What a beautiful song and a great reminder that this world isn't our home, but that we have an eternal home to look forward to!
